Event Details

Governance, Boundaries and Growth

Session 1 focused on the individual professional’s responsibility to make sound, defensible decisions about AI use. Session 2 moves from the individual decision to the practice systems that support ethical AI use over time.

This practical webinar helps vocational rehabilitation professionals build clear AI boundaries for their workplace or independent practice. Participants will explore how to classify information before it enters an AI tool, identify uses that should be avoided or escalated, recognize automation bias, and establish repeatable safeguards for privacy, fairness, documentation, human review, and client trust.

The session will focus on the governance questions that sit behind everyday AI use: What information should never enter an AI tool? When is an approved tool, policy review, client communication, or additional consultation required? How can practitioners avoid over-relying on confident but incomplete AI-generated output? What should be documented when AI is used in professional work?

Participants will leave with a practical “Before You Paste” Data Governance Decision Tool and a personal AI practice framework to help establish acceptable-use boundaries, review standards, escalation pathways, and ongoing learning practices.

This session is educational in nature and does not provide legal advice, clinical supervision, or case-specific vocational rehabilitation advice. Participants remain responsible for applying the VRAC Code of Ethics, applicable privacy requirements, organizational policies, contractual obligations, and professional judgment. Session 2 builds on Session 1 and focuses particularly on confidentiality, privacy, bias, assessment-related risk, technology-enabled practice, recordkeeping, competence, and ethical decision-making.
