“This Might Hurt” film screening andVROOM Café talk back session with Director Kent Bassett
This Might Hurt is a powerful documentary that follows individuals living with chronic pain as they explore alternative, mind-body approaches to healing—often after exhausting traditional medical treatments. For those of us in vocational rehabilitation, this film offers valuable insights into the lived experiences of people navigating invisible disabilities and complex pain conditions.(“About TMH”.) Whether you work in return-to-work planning, disability management, or client support, This Might Hurt can broaden your understanding of chronic pain, the role of psychological factors, and the potential of non-medical interventions in rehabilitation. It’s a thought-provoking watch that could challenge and enrich how you approach your practice.
Kent Bassett is an Emmy-nominated filmmaker, film editor, and chronic symptom recovery coach. He directed and edited This Might Hurt (Austin Film Festival), a feature documentary about chronic pain and a radical mind-body treatment.
